I just noticed that my past three entries had exclamation points in the titles, which honestly I find a little tacky. I don't know how I feel about me having done that.
So, for the viewing enjoyment of all, a clip about Elaine's punctuation preferences from Seinfeld. With amazing German subtitles!
And yes, I feel quite confident that that was warranted, thanks.

Hello, Friends!
This entry will be my 114th. Even though I've been at this since February, I'm still getting to know the features of Blogger, and I realized one day that if I clicked on "followers" on my dashboard it would show me actual, live other people who bothered to read my blog. For the longest time it was just one, and I figured that was just Blogger automatically adding me as my own follower or something, so I ignored it. But one day I clicked, and behold, D. Kendall was following me. Now I have five followers! Hello, friends! I realize (and Google Analytics confirms) that this isn't an indicator of great throngs of readership, but it is fun and encouraging nonetheless, and I appreciate it.
So, people who follow and read my blog, thanks! I like reading your comments and getting the occasional e-mail. Warm fuzzies to you.
Now get back to your anonymous Internet snarking. This sincerity is making me uncomfortable.

Free Corn!
The universe must know I conquered Ames last weekend (maybe it has me in its Google Reader!), because in one of the random perks of my job, at work this afternoon was about 60 ears of fresh Iowa sweet corn for the taking. I have charcoal left from last week's cookout, and I fully intend to roast those babies this week. Mmm. I love the smell of roasting corn husks. It's so State Fair.
