Emily has been writing a lot lately about ineffective marketing strategies that rub her the wrong way, so maybe she'll appreciate this excellent marketing campaign that came to me in a dream last night.
Here's how it went: A liquor company (I don't know which one, or if it even exists, so any is welcome to pay me a sum for this idea) had an online viral poll titled "How Much Do You Hate Pants?" All the response options were witty and related to how pants are awful (I couldn't agree more; I hate pants. A lot.). Then, said company threw a big party that you had to wear pajama pants to, so it was a big pajama party with drinking. Sexy pajamas were not allowed, because who wants to bother with looking good when there is comfort and booze to be had? There was a red carpet for showing off your flannel.
Seriously, I want to go to this event. Even if it were for Limoncello (DISGUSTING) I would go, and I would love it.
On a scale of one to "Mad Men Yourself," I think even Emily will agree that this poll/party combo would rank pretty high.
