Air Conditioning Fail

Two years ago, the A/C in my car crapped out while I was merging from 36 onto Snelling Ave. North in Roseville. My car went from being my one air conditioned space into a little piece of hell on Earth. There is nothing worse than a hot car in May. Except maybe a hot car in June and July.

For a graduation gift, my mom paid to have my A/C recharged at what became my favorite CarX. It was amazing. Three weeks later, though, it all leaked out again. I took it back and they told me that they could either replace my condenser (for $500) or run something called Super Seal through the A/C system to plug all the little pinprick holes in it ($39.95). I chose the latter option, because even a brand new auto A/C system can be perfect one day and completely non-functional the next. Might as well go with the cheaper fix. They did the Super Seal, refilled the freon, and charged me zero dollars. Amazing!

The A/C continued to be amazing until about two weeks ago. It has run out again. And the problem with Super Seal is you can only do it once. I asked the guy at CarX two years ago what would happen if it ran out again, and he looked at me and deadpanned, "Bummer, man. Wear a tank top."

And that's pretty much what I have to do now. Good thing it waited until almost fall to fail me. I'm looking over the forecast for this week and after Monday and Tuesday it should be fine. In fall and winter, I won't care about the A/C. And the thought of a sweltering summer gives me extra incentive to save up to actually bite the bullet and buy a new car in spring. If my car makes it through the winter I will be a happy camper.

But seriously. Fall can just hurry up and come now, as far as I'm concerned. My car is hot.

Bachelorette Party Quotes

The titles of my three forthcoming concept albums, courtesy of Beth:
  1. "Those Are Some Matronly Capri Pants"
  2. "It Will Feel Better After The First Time"
  3. "Long In The Crotch"
If I am to write this oeuvre, I'd better get cracking. First step: learn to make music and not just sing Neil Diamond songs.
